Review on πŸ”§ MotorGuide Shock Absorbing Mounting Isolator Kit - Protect Electronics with Corrosion-Resistant Bolts - Set of 4 by Jay Kenville

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You may need 4 " screws instead of the shorter screws that are included.

I replaced my Minn Kota 35 with a new Minn Kota 55 trolling motor (the old mount lasted 26 years but the old motor died.) I switched from 4 mounts to 6 based on feedback from other customers and the fact that I switched to a more powerful device. You installed it normally, it seems pretty tight but time will tell. The rubber shafts are slightly longer than the originals, and Minn Kota opted for a 2" base instead of a 3/16" steel plate, so the mounting bolts included with the isolator weren't long enough to reach the threaded nuts under the deck . . I had to buy a 4" screw to complete the job.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Legacy model
