My house is full of "Blinds Next Day" and they are sold out. When a cord broke in my honeycomb shade, I noticed that the Hunter Douglass repair kit had the correct parts, so I ordered one. This kit was a little tricky to use, but I was able to fix a broken blind in about 45 minutes. Now that I know what I'm doing, it takes about 15 minutes. Patience is required in any case. I didn't read the instructions carefully the first time, so it took longer than it should. I didn't get the trick to melting a broken string into a new one the first time I read it, so I used this 5 inch thread tool that comes in the package. It worked, but if your thread is so broken that you can just cut the end and fuse the old and new strings together and use the old one to pull the new one through, it saves a lot of time. When I need new blinds, it's Hunter Douglas because they're smart enough to sell replacement parts. I also found a video online that helped me get a mental picture of what I was getting into.
