Review on Noctua NF A12X25 FLX 3 Pin Premium by Robert Pearson

Strong airflow without much noise, albeit terribly expensive

I've never liked a Noctua fan. Not because they're ugly, and not because I don't think they're very well made and will last forever, but because I never thought I'd have enough airflow for the cost and noise. I understand that there are very fast fans, but I don't need them. A few years ago I was building computers with Corsair 600T cases, which I think is great because I like using a few slower fans, not less. , faster fans and the 600T was generous with fan space. (I thought the Cooler Master Excalibur fans were great, but they didn't sell well, and I'm apparently one of about 3 people who liked them. However, I have 7 of them running at 2/3 and 10 speed computers is a year old and they still work fine.) However, I've just assembled a new computer, Excalibur is long gone, and I'm very sensitive to fans even "whining". if they are not loud. I decided to try one of them and I really like this one. It's not quiet at full speed, but it does move quite a bit of air, and the sound has a "white noise" quality where it's imperceptible until it comes to a halt. I hate paying $30 a piece but if it is I totally agree as my new case doesn't allow for many slower cheaper fans. Oh, and I really like that Noctua offers these long thin things to replace the screws. as they are good to use when placement allows.
