It is very important.
We have used this in our motorhome as we work full time. If you travel west in the middle of summer, temperatures will reach over 100°C. Our normal air conditioning couldn't keep up. It made a big difference. It also humidifies the air a bit, which is nice. Highly recommended. However, note that it will not replace air conditioning in ultra-high temperatures.
