Review on πŸ”§ Compact Homak Plastic Tool Box (16 Inches) with Tray and Dividers - Sleek Black Design by Rick Booth

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing quality, poor design

Poor quality and some poor design choices prevent this box from getting a recommendation. , heavy-duty carrying handle. Has a full size interior compartment that is hard to find. The tray also has adjustable dividers, which is nice. Cons: The quality of the main box is okay, with decent molding, but some plastic burrs remain. Parts bins are both cheaply made and poorly designed. One of them came out of the box with a tear. The individual compartments in the bins are all quite small. With these you're pretty much limited to small screws, nuts and bolts, which is fine, but I prefer larger ones that allow you to store things like hose fittings, pigtail reels, etc. Items like these, while not large, are a little too big for bins. In addition, the lids of the containers do not touch the body of the box when opened, so they do not remain upright, but fall back into the closed position, which means that you have to hold the lid of the container open with one hand, and the other - for your share to get. To avoid this, you need to pull the jar out of its closed position about half a centimeter so that the lid detaches from the case and opens completely. The tool box dimensions listed on the Revain product page are inaccurate. So if you're planning on storing them in a limited storage space (like me), don't rely on the listed dimensions to find out if they'll actually fit. Actual dimensions are 19.25 L x 9.75 W x 9.875 H. Verdict: Overpriced by $20. This box would have been more reasonable at $15 including shipping, especially with the cheap top lid cases.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
