To me, it's nice, a lovely thought and all, but just as soap is supposed to do, it rinses down the drain. . . along with all those supposedly beneficial ingredients.HOWEVER! This calamine soap has really helped me with my notoriously itchy dry coarse and nasty skin.Twelve years and two craniotomies ago, I was put on a host of different medications to stabilize and make tolerable a serious and painful, debilitating neurological condition. As a result, my skin has become like the thick, embalmed, leather hide of an Egyptian mummy. The rough, dry bumpy texture of my skin and just how much it has aged me in such a short time, really doesn't matter to me anymore. It's the itchiness that sometimes sends me into a cussing fit on par with a truck driver.But now, I can exist without having to think about that anymore. Since I've begun using this calamine soap, the amount of itchiness has reduced considerably. As a matter of fact, I had accepted a set of back scratchers at the same time this soap was offered. Hilariously, I hadn't had to use the back scratchers much since I've been using the soap, lol.The soap, unlike a lot of similarly styled soaps, actually lathers up quite well. But keep in mind, it is a softer soap. I have noted that I can press my thumb into it and the soap gives quite easily. For that reason, I would try to keep it protected from sitting in water or near a dripping faucet. As for the scent, it is actually quite nice! I didn't actually read the destructions before using the soap. I know. . . I know. Bad, careless, thoughtless, idiotic, irresponsible, yep, any and all those and many other names you could and probably have come with. So, spank my wrinkled fanny with a wet noodle. Anyway, after finally reading them, I had discovered that you should let the lather sit upon your hide. . . ahem, I mean your SKIN for two to three minutes before rinsing off. So, considering that, I have been using the soap WRONG or rather just as I would with any other soap by rinsing it right off. LOL! In spite of this, the soap worked for me just the same! Next time, though, I am going to let those suds sit on my gruesome outer wrapping for a half hour and see what comes of it. :)
