Basecamp Shinmax helmets have definitely been improved. I've been using it for a month now and it's banging (falls off, hits the closing door hard and still falling) and so far only light scratches and the visor isn't broken (my last base camp helmet had the visor). broke off almost immediately). I had to seriously adjust the straps (cut off the extra strap as I have a smaller head). Overall the fit is more comfortable than the last Basecamp helmet I had and I only had to tighten it up a bit (whereas the last helmet required me to adjust the straps every time I put it on). The reflective stripe on the strap is a nice addition. The taillight lasts a long time (until I had to charge it). Since I usually turn on the light when the helmet is already on, I want the button to be pressed or more so I know the light is actually on. I usually assume or hope that I pressed the button hard enough that it would be useful if the button was pressed. Overall, this is a stylish helmet that is excellent value for money.
