The top i5 2550k is simply the king, I took the Xeon E5450 as a replacement - and forgot about the brakes in principle. The main thing is to have a good motherboard and a PSU that will allow it to work at full capacity. I experimented with overclocking - the result is simply incredible, 5GHz without raising the voltage and complete stability in all tests, despite the fact that the IceHammer 4350 cooler, which is not the most powerful, coped well with cooling after such overclocking, an average of 75C under load. ASUS P8Z77-M and a 650W PSU with 8-pin power for the processor also contributed to all this. Like it or not, the Sandy Bridge family was the most progressive and has the highest overclocking potential, stability and reliability.
