Yes the 7 year old was very excited but soon lost interest in looking at the pile of parts. I managed to collect all 4 bots in about an hour. Some pieces barely fit together, others fit together loosely (and then fell out). There were also a lot of leftovers. The set also includes a couple of shabby bags/crates that serve no purpose. You can attach batteries to the bots so that some of them activate in a minimal way. The instructions say the kit comes with a vibration pack, but we didn't receive it. Generally too complicated for the kids target audience, but they're pretty decent.
