They also do not work (worked 1 out of 3) but when used the dial goes dark (after 2 uses) and cannot be read. When I bought this I knew they might not be the best, but I didn't think I was throwing them away and wasting my money. made cheap. Weak. Inaccurate. And they "burn" so you can't read the dial. I've used them in the oven at no more than 400 b/c, which is the highest temperature in my oven (I've tested this). Also, do not use them on the grill. Even on the top shelf of the grill, away from the flame, they fail. Spend your money, buy a better one. Good luck cook!
