Review on 🏎️ EBC Brakes DP21666 Greenstuff 2000 Series Sport Brake Pad: Enhanced Performance for Sports Cars by Cory Whitney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

THESE BRAKES ARE GREAT BUT I'M NOT SURE THEY ARE ENOUGH

I like the brakes but not sure if they're worth the money. I have a 2009 Nissan Altima that I drive mostly around town and on local highways. The original brakes have traveled 52,500 miles without wear. I bought and installed 4 rotors and pads from EBC in February 2015. The original brakes braked well, but I didn't like how they responded. After EBC replaced all discs and pads, braking was great. These are the only brakes I've ever had where under moderate braking (from low speed braking to gradual stops) the pads seemed to increase the braking despite only light but constant pedal pressure. When I had to brake seriously they always responded and the brakes never went away. That's good news. Braking performance is fantastic. Hence the five star rating. They do get a bit dusty though, for some reason some weeks are worse than others. What frustrates me is that the rear brakes only lasted 15,400 miles. Nissan told me that the Altima's rear brakes wear out faster than the front ones. They were 0.003 after 22 months and 15,400 miles. There were still enough pads left in the front brakes. At EBC's recommendation, I replaced the rear brakes again with the Greenstuff 2000 Series. I would change the pads for others but chose not to change front or rear. The rotors looked good and were smooth with no wear or warping. I expected the pad mileage to be at least twice as long as mine since my riding style doesn't harm the braking system.

Pros
  • Ideal for light compact sport cars
Cons
  • Upgrades
