I love using this lightweight notepad and keeping an easel on the table. If necessary, the light can be made very bright. As with most light pads the cable enters from the side, wish they would change this feature to use an L shaped connector. I found the light controls more difficult to use than my small light bar and there are no instructions. You really need a button cover because the controls are pressure sensitive and it got on my nerves while diamond painting when I accidentally leaned on them over and over again. It's near the bottom. Overall a good buy. It's a manageable weight for the size and I can handle it without much difficulty, but it's a lot heavier than a small mat.
