Zero quality control, shameful

This product dishonors the All-Clad name. I should have believed the other negative reviews but I was biased in favor of a reliable brand and wrongly ignored others' experiences. Don't make the same mistake I did. As an avid home cook, I've heard over and over again that All-Clad is the best product money can buy. So I was willing to pay $50 for this square pan expecting it to be an excellent product. In fact, there is only one requirement for such a pan. It has to be flat. Of course, it has to be durable, versatile and attractively designed. But first it has to be FLAT. This pan is not flat. The All-Clad logo is embossed right in the center of the back of the pan. When unpacking, it was noticeable that the metal was deformed during the stamping process, causing the hob to swell in the middle. But I figured it was impossible for All-Clad to overlook such ugliness or sell a product with such a glaring flaw. So, just to be sure, I filled the pot with water, and I wasn't mistaken on that point. The center of the pan stuck out like a sore thumb. Water flowed down the protruding center and pooled from all sides. I can't believe a company that makes premium cooking products didn't think of checking the flatness of the pan they mass produce. This only leads to one possible conclusion. All-Clad was aware of the defect but decided to sell the pots anyway, hoping most people wouldn't notice. That's the kind of lure and switch I've come to expect from a lot of companies. But All-Clad is considered the best, a trusted company whose products will last a lifetime with proper care. Maybe something has changed at All-Clad. Perhaps their management thinks it's better for short-term gains to take advantage of the company's longstanding reputation and sell junk at inflated prices. I only know one thing for sure; My perception of the All-Clad brand was irreparably skewed, as was that crappy frying pan.
