This scale is very accurate. I've checked the "test weights" repeatedly with other scales I have - they seem to stay the same. It's sensitive and fairly responsive: when reloaded, it responds to a few hundredths of a grain and seems accurate/repeatable/consistent. I can count/predict the fall of the powder grains to see that tiny increase. It's probably an exaggeration, but it's nice that it's so delicate. Battery life with the included battery was decent - with around 3-4 weeks of usage for 2-3 hours a day, 3 days a week. I don't know if a "brand name" battery will fit - I've since plugged it into a USB power cord from a power strip with a USB power out and it works great. My display is "off-white" on black - very good contrast. The screen is clear and sharp. The keys are clearly marked, they're crisp and easy to press, but they're not so weak that they're accidentally bumped. It's easy to change modes, calibrate, calibrate. Arrived well protected in a padded box - I have kept them in this box for safekeeping when not in use. Electric scales for the last 20+ years AND seem to be getting more and more accurate. I wouldn't use those expensive scales anymore, just get these. The only downside I see with this scale is that the bowl that comes with it is very light, cheap and doesn't pour well, in contrast to the nice feel of the scale itself. . Meh, for the price I can use one of the pans from my other scales, really not even worth pinning it with a star considering how happy I am with it otherwise.
