Not for a very small child

Description front and center says a small child cannot use this properly but somehow I missed it and was a little disappointed that my almost 7 month old still can't manipulate the toy to make it squeak (which I think is the toy's main attribute). She's certainly cute as a plush toy and has some visual interest, but she's lost the musical qualities for now. Even as an adult, I will say that getting each foot to squeak properly (enough to play a songbook tune) isn't easy - sometimes the squeak doesn't work and you have to change the position of your hands. So far my baby seems to especially love sucking and gripping the curvaceous handle at the top so is benefiting from it but not in the way I intended! Maybe as she gets older, but like I said, I still don't find her squeaking as reliably as she should. Oh, and the vanilla smell is pretty strong, although we like it.
