I had no experience with a telescope, so I didn't know anything about the setup. However, the scope is adjustable, so I started by seeing the street light and then adjusted until the scope fit. Then I got an email from the seller explaining a few things (unsolicited help and a big thank you) and boom! I could look at objects in the night sky and easily determine if they are celestial bodies or hovering planes, look at the moon, my son and I now go to the planets as they coincide with our global position. The tripod that came with it wasn't my favorite, but I already had a good tripod and was able to convert it for use with the telescope. Decent for beginners and at this price point, can't complain at all.
