Review on HP 24Mh FHD Monitor – 1920X1080P, 75Hz, Height & Tilt Adjustment, Built-In Speakers, HDMI Connectivity by Tyler Kern

Great monitor for general use and video streaming

Like many people, my wife was working from home during the pandemic. She has a nice ThinkPad and I provided her with a Shure MV51 microphone to give her powerful radio voice in Zoom meetings and a USB docking station (plugable brand) that supports two 4K monitors, so I have decided to buy this HP. Monitor in addition to the 10-year-old 22-inch ASUS HDMI monitor she was using. Well, I was completely blown away by how advanced monitor technology has become. The resolution on the monitors is the same (1080p) but if you click on the photo you can see that the black levels on the new monitor are simply superior to the old one. For this reason, plasma screens dominated high-end televisions for a time, as LCDs could not provide contrast for home theater. Whether you're just working on an Excel spreadsheet, reading email, or attending a Zoom meeting, the difference doesn't matter. It's obvious that I didn't give this game a good rating as it hasn't been tested and it's not a gaming monitor. Another nice feature is that it's height-adjustable, so you don't have to put your monitor on a stack of books to raise it a few inches. I have speakers that play audio through the HDMI input, but they're not as loud as a regular phone. The speakers are good enough for watching videos or holding a Zoom meeting in a quiet environment, but that's about it. Because the bezel around the screen is very thin, expect each webcam to extend slightly off the top edge of the screen. It also uses a standard PC power cord instead of a wall mounted power adapter. A lot of new monitors are moving in that direction and I don't know if that's a blessing or a curse. On the plus side, you can use a standard power cord and don't have an external power adapter hanging under your desk. The downside is that you can't replace the PSU if it fails. You'll need to fix it (highly unlikely these days) or replace the entire monitor. If you think my review was useful to you, click the "Useful" button!
