Review on ๐Ÿ  Aqueon QuietFlow LED PRO Aquarium Power Filters: Efficient Filtration for Any Aquarium Size from 50-250GPH by Karen Smith

Probably NOT suitable for acrylic aquariums

My 55 gallon saltwater (glass) aquarium is currently running on an Aqueon filter and I really like it - very quiet and reliable. Had a 20 gallon brine run (also glass) with a small Tetra filtration system. I was able to get a good discount on a 33 gallon acrylic tank and upgraded a 20 to a 33. I bought this Aqueon for a 33 as the Tetra's smaller filter system wasn't big enough. When attempting to install the new Aqueon system onto the tank, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the filter hole (where it sits/exits at the rim of the tank) is MUCH smaller than the pre-punched hole. on Acryl 33. As I don't want to try to cut acrylic I have to send back a new Aqueon. So, a word of caution - nowhere have I seen anything about a minimum hole size for it to protrude through the back of a tank and work properly. Most acrylic tanks I've seen are built the same way, with the inner rim running from the side walls to the top of the tank. While aqueons are good filtration systems, they may well not have been designed for acrylic tanks, but again, there was no warning.
