This is a fun project. It contains a significant number of connection points, many of which are close together, which is good practice. It includes some spare LEDs as one or two will likely fail so you can practice desoldering and rewiring. The only thing I'm taking off a star for is that without the protective styrofoam the chips are loose in the bag, so ALSO learn how to bend the pins back into shape and try to get the chip through the holes - something, maybe not meant to teach you, but it was a rewarding experience nonetheless.
