This lens is very sharp and clear. This is a quality build that lives up to all the professional reviewers' opinions on performance. I'm an amateur photographer and I can immediately tell the difference in focus speed and image quality right out of the box. The most amazing thing is how close this lens focuses. I would say it's a replacement for a macro lens, but it's not a macro lens. It's pretty close. I personally like to use this lens for fashion and nature photography. It's big but well balanced. Just one complaint, the focus ring and zoom ring are upside down. Not sure why Nikon did this, but it can be confusing. after lens change. I saved up for a year to get this beauty and she is a MUST HAVE for your collection.
