Review on Revolutionize Your Ride With The Swagtron Swagcycle Pro Folding Electric Bike: Fully App-Enabled And Packed With Features! by Patrick Biletnikoff

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The Swagcycle Pro provides a fun, economical, short-trip transportation bike that should meet or exceed your expections.

Purchased 2 Swagcycle Pro's for myself and spouse a few weeks back as an alternate means to get around locally following my recent work retirement. I must report the bikes are a hoot to ride around, and the bike riding experience exceeded my expectations. Set-up out of the box was not difficult. I had to pump the tires to recommended pressures before riding, and provide for an initial battery charge for 4-5 hours. I'm a senior, and a big guy -- fully clothed with back pack, weigh-in at 250 lbs. I was concerned, but the bike performed pretty much as advertised--I estimate my max speed was 12-13 mph, and after the first charge, I completed 5 miles of round-trip traveling, with 1/4 battery life still left. My spouse, who is at least 65 lbs lighter, was achieving faster max speeds, 15+ mph, and for the same travel distance, her bike had >1/2 battery life still left. Some considerations are in order. First, the Swagcycle ride experience is not exactly like a manual bike with pedals. Your feet rest on front wheel pegs, so that both your hands on the handlebars, and your feet movement, can impact steering and balance. It takes a few short rides to get use to this new bike posture, and to master the motion of your hands, arms, legs and feet for Swagcycle balance and steering. Also, with front and rear mechanical disc brakes, stopping is excellent, but quite abrupt. In fact, my bike brakes from the factory were very tight, and the new brake pads were actually rubbing slightly against the front and rear wheel brake discs when not applied. I adjusted them slightly softer myself--from memory, and with the help of several Utube videos from mechanical bike experts. Finally, the supplied bike seat is probably suitable and comfortable enough for a typical 150 lb person, but not so much at 250 lbs. However, the Swagcycle comes with a universal 2-rail seat set-up connector to the bike frame, so I plan to change it out with a more substantial bicycle seat in the near future.
