Review on OMRA Spremy Electric Tomato Strainer 1/4 HP Model 850 - Efficient Tomato Processing at Your Fingertips by Stuart Rasmussen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pleasantly surprised.

I want to start by sending this back almost. After unpacking and assembling it felt quite small for what I wanted it for. But I really used it. And let me say that I love it. I can do a lot! I grow about 100 plus liters of tomatoes a year. And many other tomato-based products. I've had a Roma manual food strainer for about 16 years and I love it! If you are looking for a much more affordable item, I definitely recommend it. It's a hold, so flex your muscles. lol I'm giving this car 4 stars because there are a few things I don't like about it. First, it sits so low above the table that I had to put it on a step stool. The red plastic shoot touches the worktop. There is no space underneath for a bowl or pan. Next comes the plastic spiral. And shoot. I was hoping for stainless steel but I guess it's not that big of a deal. It took a little longer for the sprout to fit into my pan. But again, it's not the end of the world. The piston is the worst part of this design. If you pay attention to my photo, there's almost nothing to stop when it's filled with a car. And when it comes to hot cooked tomatoes, it's not ideal at all. I ended up using a plunger from my Roma food strainer. Just flip it and it works. Now for what I like about it. The stainless steel funnel is a great bonus. I like that it is easy to assemble and disassemble. And it works great for removing the skin and seeds from tomatoes. So I really do what he says he will do. The milking time was more than halved. Just a few settings and everything would be perfect!
