I still have a pair of these shorts and love them for running. I love the inner pocket (although it doesn't fit my Pixel 2 phone, I can still use it for cards, keys, etc.). If they were smarter, they would have made a back strap with a larger pocket for a larger phone, since that's where it's more comfortable to carry the phone (on the back arch) while running or walking, rather than on the stomach. Anyway, the pair I just received has threads sticking out and a large bunch of stitching sticking out of the seam (see photo) that I had to trim. Quality control seems to have slipped a bit. I just hope this defect doesn't cause it to pop while I'm running in them (I'll update if that happens). Otherwise they are very comfortable. I'm 5ft 1in, 103lbs and size S fits great with some compression. So if you don't like the compression at all and you're the same size as me, you can go to size M.
