I got this collar for obedience training and as a walking collar. It works better than a webbing martingale collar, but is wide enough not to cut the dog's throat. The only downside is that it's a little heavy, but it doesn't seem to bother the dog at all. A limited closure is much safer for this dog than a slip-on collar. Of course I take it off after training and put on a collar with a safety buckle. Note: My dog doesn't pull or tug because of the training I'm doing (neither do I tug or tug) but he respects this collar more than cloth collars and if it goes ahead he knows we're "working". It's durable and well made - no sharp or rough surfaces, no tangles, no other issues. The limbs fell smoothly on the neck. Very good quality at a reasonable price. I have been training dogs for over 30 years and this is one of the nicest everyday martingale collars I have found. I personally would like this collar to be available with both single and double chain.
