This is a very durable tool. First let me say that I'm new to the world of mechanical air tools (although I have, use and love my compressor and air nailers) so it will be difficult to compare noise levels. However, my experience with this air hammer has been very positive. Features of this tool: * 2800 strokes per minute (bpm) * Maximum stroke 2.6" * Average air consumption 4.4 cfm * Working pressure 90 psi * 1/4" air inlet. (Adapter NOT included, more common with air tools)* Compatible with 3/8" hose* .401" bit shank After installing the adapter and testing it on a piece of concrete, I was pleased with the tool's performance. I need a light tile demo for projects around the house. The compressor I used was a 6 gallon pancake compressor which definitely does not provide the required 4.4 cfm that this tool will need over the long term. This suggests that it will easily deliver the required 90psi working pressure, allowing me to use this tool jerkily. Since the space I need for the demo is relatively small, I'm hoping that I can get by with my current compressor, but we'll see. More details about this tool. * The red color is not shiny like in the picture but a really nice matte red color. powder coated.* The included chisel is shorter than the recently released Craftsman chisel set. (In case it matters)* In terms of sound, the device wasn't whispery, but it was definitely not louder than my cordless impact wrench and I was satisfied with the overall noise Concrete becomes completely vibration-free. Overall, like I said, I'm very happy with this tool and look forward to using it more for the renovation projects I have planned around the house.
