I first bought Tegaderm from Walgreens to put on a medication patch that wouldn't close but had to be worn for 3 days and kept coming off by the end of the second day. The doctor told me about Tegaderm. Walgreens sold this product both branded and generic but both were very expensive so I decided to see if I could find it at Revain. Unlike Walgreens, I found this wonderful big roll and then... I started to figure out all sorts of ways to use Tegaderm. My family now uses Tegaderm for so many things and this roll size is the best! Because Tegaderm is breathable yet waterproof, it is an ideal wound care product. It can be applied to gauze to keep the bandage dry and clean for up to 3 days (maybe longer, but this is the longest time I've personally left it on myself) without damaging the skin. It can be applied directly to small cuts and scrapes with a small amount of antibiotic cream on a real wound to prevent the sticky part from sticking to the sensitive area while it heals. The clear cover lets you see your skin healing and lets you know when it's time to remove or change the dressing. It can be applied to tattoos to keep them dry yet still allow them to breathe. It's perfect for those pesky paper cuts that take a day or two to heal. If you can't find a bandage that fits the right awkward spot, or... you can't get a bandage to stay on. Also perfect for covering stitches, just apply some antibiotic ointment and gauze to the stitched area, apply Tegaderm and shower, swim. get wet as much as you want! I recently had an allergic reaction to poison ivy on my front foot and made a salve out of baking soda, honey, and extra virgin olive oil. I was able to generously apply the entire rash on my shins and cover it all up with Tegaderm overnight! The relief I experienced the next morning was absolutely wonderful. My oldest daughter was a waitress when she got her wrist tattoo and used it to protect against germs and spills in the kitchen. She simply applied a large amount of tattoo ointment to the tattoo and placed the Tegaderm directly on top of it. ***** Be sure to clean the skin around the area to be covered, wounds, burns, tattoos, medicated plasters, stitches, etc. with alcohol. Make sure each wound has Tegaderm protection such as B. a gauze bandage or a copious amount of ointment or lotion so that when Tegaderm is removed it does not pull or pull on anything that could cause pain or injury. Remove the protective film and apply to the skin. Press lightly with your hand for about 30 seconds. Tegaderm adheres better when warmed up. If you do everything right, Tegaderm will be so ***** when you take the tops off
