Review on Park Tool BBT 22 Shimano Cartridge by Michael Vargas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

BBT-22 is different from BBT-22S. Both work, but you can get both.

I ordered the standard BBT-22C because it obviously replaced the BBT-22. Okay, I could live with the new, shorter version. To my surprise and delight, an older, more versatile BBT-22 was delivered. I like the heavier build and the ability to work with multiple wrenches. This extended sleeve also comes in handy for removing a tight resistance floor without having to glue a stack of shims. On the other hand, the shorter one, BBT-22C, is less likely to wobble since it requires a larger socket or wrench. . On "frozen" bike parts, hand tools are sometimes used as FOOT tools, especially when you're in a hurry and don't want to waste time with penetrating oil, heat, and installing a longer lever. One "wrong step" - and you end up with a prematurely "worn out" tool. You are buying a "real" Park Tool, so it goes without saying that the metal quality can vary. Longevity? Again, this depends on the user. For example, Snap-On Tools advertised its products as being indestructible when used by a professional mechanic. However, the sellers were quick to point out that all bets are void if given to a child! This is a HAND TOOL. ;-)
