Review on ๐Ÿ’จ 0-5-4-5V Pressure Transducer with 0-10PSI Transmitter by Shawn Xayamonty

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pretty linear. Two units, different ranges! The housing is not necessarily isolated from the electronics

I ordered two of them, probably the same series. There are no markings on them so I have no idea what their max pressure was. a water column to measure accuracy and an Arduino to test side by side in 50cm increments Block 1: 50cm = 50 counts. exactly after 3 m (330) unit 2: 50 cm = 30 units. Approximately 1 reading from linearity at 3 m (215). It is important for the devices to stabilize in order to achieve this linearity. I started the first sequence right after turning the device on and there was drift and non-linearity. I've concluded that tool #1 has a full range of about 10m (15psi / 1bar), while tool #2 has double the range of 20m (30psi / 2bar). Why did you send me two different ones? With no markings on the device, they probably don't know either. I don't know yet how well they will work in my application, for example monitoring the rainwater level in a tank. Another much more annoying problem is the insulation of the case from the sensor terminals. One block reads fully open, the other has a resistance ranging from 40kฮฉ to 5Mฮฉ. why do you care Because if you measure a conductive medium like water, you have to ground the housing. This doesn't affect the first block, but the second block pulls the output voltage up to 5V! I have a total of 5 blocks from several different vendors. 2/5 are isolated, 3/5 are not and therefore will drift if grounded. So bench testing will be in for a nasty surprise once you've incorporated the sensor into your application.

Pros
  • pressure and vacuum
Cons
  • I'll write later
