Works reliably from 12 to 15 feet.
I have a Sony TV with a remote control sensor on the bottom center of the frame. This was a problem because I also have a SONOS Beam in front of it blocking access to the transducer. This device allowed me to move it to a location where there was no interference from the BEAM. Worked great from about 12-15 feet away. I hate adding another plug-in to my setup, but it works great until I install a TV and get the soundbar out of the way. Please make sure that the sensor is not placed in a place with a lot of direct sunlight. At the time of day when I have light, it worked less efficiently. I suspect this is because the light makes it difficult to detect infrared rays. Once I placed it in a shady spot, it worked flawlessly.
