***NOTE*** You can use a Ryzen 3000 series processor if you figure out how to work with the BIOS flashback feature. ***Latest update*** I sent the CH6H back because it had trouble detecting the graphics card on boot. I tried the RX 570, RX 580 4GB and GTX 1070 and all of these cards had random boot issues of one kind or another. 4 out of 5 times the system booted but the boot cycle was delayed. Problems were severe screen discoloration (not AMD's infamous green screen, but something worse) or the "One long, three short beeps" error. with American Megatrends BIOS. I have another old Asus P67 board with a burned out PCIE x16 slot and it gives the error "One long three short beeps" when I insert the card into that slot. In the last 2.5 years I have bought 6 Asus motherboards and only 2 of them. These boards worked without any problems. A way to keep up with Asus quality control. All other brands have their own quirks and problems, so go from one problem to another by choosing a different brand. I'm using this with a 3rd gen Ryzen 7 3800x, but I had to do a BIOS flashback on the board. Heck, I just finished installing Windows 10 1909 on a new computer. I'll add more later when I test this board. The board I received comes with BIOS version 6101 (printed on the board). This works with a 2nd generation chip, but not with a 3rd generation chip. I flashed the board to version 7601. There are many tutorials on how to flash back the BIOS, but here are a few tips. - Download the BRnamer program. This will rename the BIOS file to C6H.CAP. Make sure the USB drive has no additional partitions on ThumbDrive. The single partition must be less than 32GB as you need to format the drive in "Fat32" format. The CAP file is slightly larger than 16MB, so you don't need a large flash drive. Make sure the C6H.CAP file is in the root of the flash drive. If flashing was successful, the Flashback button will flash. for a few minutes, then the light goes out. If the flash does not fire, the indicator blinks a few times and then stays on. My first attempts didn't work because the flash drive had a recovery partition that I couldn't delete in Windows. VRM temps hit 40 when running Prime95 but stay at 30 for everything else. I was able to overclock my G.Skill memory to 3600MHz 16-15-15-35. The best Cinebench r15 score I've gotten so far is 2203. The system hasn't hung yet. No problem. With the right cooler, the clock speed increases to 4.54 GHz for a single core. I first tried the old H100i v2 but this cooler didn't work that well with the 3800x. Floe Riing 360 did well. I then tried the D15 with a 140mm fan at 2500rpm and it worked fine too. I slightly improved the clock speed of all cores with D15, in contrast to Floe Riing. The only other suggestion I can make is to test every motherboard you buy as soon as it comes out. Last year I bought a C7H Wifi board with 2700x but didn't have time to test the system for a month. The board was bad and I messed around with Asus for 7 weeks before they replaced the motherboard.
