Review on πŸ”Œ ASUS PCE-C2500 2.5G Base-T PCIe Network Adapter | Backward Compatible, RJ45 Port | 2.5Gbps/1Gbps/100Mbps Support by Edwin Black

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as it should!

UPDATE: After a day or two of normal usage, my computer kept "disconnecting" from my router. That didn't fix it either, I had to physically unplug the ethernet cable from that NIC and plug it back in. After this happened 5 or more times a day I figured Amazon would replace it. I received my replacement and have been using it for a week and not a single package has been lost. I guess the first thing I got was the failed one. The new one works great. Very easy to install. It didn't come with any hardware other than a smaller mounting plate, but I had an extra screw lying around. The package also included a CD with drivers for Windows 7, 8, 10, Mac OSX and Linux. I just downloaded the drivers from the Asus website to make sure they are up to date. I should also add that the card works with Windows 10 without drivers. In fact, I ran some speed tests and with the drivers installed, my speed was slower. I uninstalled the drivers and erased all traces of them with Revo Uninstalled and went full speed again to almost maxing out my gigabit connection. FULL 118 MB/s from Usenet. Works just as well as the onboard 2.5GB port on my motherboard. (MSI MEG X570 ACE) Reliable network card.

Pros
  • Full Compatibility - The PCE-C2500 is compatible with current network standards including 2.5Gbps, 1Gbps and 100Mbps for full backwards compatibility.
Cons
  • I'll add later
