Review on Enhanced Welding Experience with the Miller 280045 Black Digital Infinity Series Welding Helmet with Clear Vision by Lokesh Das

The clearest lens I've ever had

I bought this for my job where I weld 2-3 times a week. I've had it for about a month now and my only regret is that I waited so long to purchase a quality hood. The look is much cleaner than the cheap Chinese car tints I've used and much better than the Lincoln. The only real competitor to this hood is the flash. I was hesitant to spend the money at first, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger. For all new welders, it's worth it. First buy a good range hood and learn how to weld FOR VISION. This lens hood and flash are the only lens hoods I will be using in the future. Also, "X mode” is a must if you regularly weld outdoors or in confined spaces. I can't express my disappointment at having an auto-dimming hood and using it outside on a sunny day, only to basically turn it into a permanent shading hood from sunlight. Or being blinded by a piece of pipe blocking the photo sensor while crouching in the frame. The "X-Mode" function is essentially an electromagnetic field sensor, so bright shop lights and sun do not cause dimming and can detect an arc around a corner or behind a panel. Now for the only downside. The headdress is strange. It's not uncomfortable after spending a week figuring out how to adjust all the parts and moving parts, and the lock that many complain about is perfectly fine (it locks into a vertical position that doesn't work in any other hood that Eat me has). . already done), but if you have longer hair, wear a cap whether you do it normally or not. In my opinion there are too many moving parts and adjustments, I'm used to it, but if I could change one part it would be it.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
