My husband and I have had identical colanders in several sizes for a number of years. One of them commented how neat they are so I bought this brand for each of our married daughters. The reason I chose this brand for Revain over several others was because one of the two in the two size pack has a long handle. Personally, I like to hold the colander by the long handle while I use my other hand to hold the handle of the pot and pour out the food. Over the years, a few pleated filters have survived; others broke at the bends where they collapsed. They seem strong enough to last for several years. Needless to say, you'll likely find storage space in your kitchen much easier than large pot-sized colanders that take up shelf space. Next to the stove I have a narrow drawer in which I store heating pads, towels, etc. I put my screens on top so they're always right where I need them.
