EDIT: My infrared heat gun deflected them 1-2 degrees. Not enough to make a difference whether you're using them to gauge growing plants or maintain temperature in a pet terrarium or similar function, but it's worth mentioning. Either that or the heat gun is off. I have no way of calibrating to know which one is 100% perfect. Original post: I can't confirm the accuracy but having used it at home for the past few weeks I would say the temperatures are accurate. Both show almost the same for temperature and humidity when placed side by side. When I breathe on them, the humidity quickly jumps to 100% (okay, it only has 2 discharges, so it stops at 99%) so I think they're close enough for my needs. my needs? I have a bearded dragon which means I need live insects to feed it. So I need to keep the insects at a constant temperature and humidity level so they are healthy when it comes time to feed my dragon. So it's perfect. I cut a small square hole in the trash can, put it in, and these batteries (if they look like the last ones I had) will last for several years. They sent extra batteries but who knows if those original batteries eventually run out I'll know where they are. I only needed one so I took the other upstairs to the bedroom. The humidity was very low (it's winter now) which helped convince my wife that we needed a humidifier in the house. The first one was too small but my wife told me this morning that she can feel a difference in how she feels the next morning after the humidifier has worked. I can also throw this in a bearded dragon terrarium. They also need to be kept at a certain temperature and humidity level.
