I mean they are what they are.

I'm BRAND NEW to flying drones. So I actually bought them before I bought a drone or ever flown a drone in my life. It's an inexpensive purchase, so it's not the end of the world. But to be honest, I regret the purchase. Not because they don't do what they're supposed to, not because there's something wrong with them, but simply because I just don't use them. If you hit a tree or something while flying, that's just another thing that can snag on a branch and cause your drone to get stuck (which I think might be better than hitting the fall to the ground). They actually reduce flight time. Flying the Mavic Air 2 gives you about 30 minutes of flight time, and adding those "training wheels" (that's what I call them training wheels) actually decreases the drone's performance and reduces flight time. up to 18 minutes. It's just another thing to carry around and snatch/collect. After a week, when you get used to flying your drone, you'll immediately realize it's something you put in a box and shove in the attic. And given the built-in object avoidance system in the Mavic Air 2, which literally prevents you from bumping into something, all of this is practically useless. The only time I see them useful for someone with more than a few days experience flying a drone is (A) you're flying in a tight, enclosed space and you need to disable your obstacle avoidance system, which you should be an experienced flier if you do it anyway, or maybe if your 12 year old nephew is visiting and you want to let him fly the drone across the yard and maybe carry it as an extra measure in case he does something stupid. Generally, when you get your drone, take it out into a wide open field, become familiar with it, and save money. If you decide to buy them, they will be spending MUCH more time than ever in use. If you're working on a project that requires you to fly your drone through a house or obstacle course and turn off the obstacle avoidance system and just want to make sure you don't bang your blades against the wall, this is probably for the ONLY time you will find that these are really useful. I give it 3 stars because the product works and does exactly what it is supposed to do and in the very specific situations I have described it will be useful. I won't give them more than 3 stars because for the average flier you won't be using them much. As for me, I will keep them. They're not so useless that I just throw them in the trash. But they're also not useful enough to have on hand. Again they will gather dust in the box.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different
