I'd advise you to think twice before buying the VG249Q: it's a $150 IPS monitor advertised as a $250 TUF gaming monitor. That's the same picture quality and OSD as the ASUS VP249QGR, a $100 cheaper option with a worse stat. When the product arrived I was amazed by the build quality, as previous reviewers have reported poor quality control with dead/stuck pixel issues as well strong glow. I haven't had these issues, but my main concerns are how the colors look on these monitors and how the picture looks. First, the colors look odd, even when calibrated it seems like the hue of the color filter is being applied to the image. The default mode is "racing mode" which is strange as you can't adjust some settings in the OSD while the typical default mode is fully calibratable (if you want to calibrate your own monitor you might want to think twice). . The second thing to know is that the image quality is blurry and you can't adjust the sharpness in modes like sRGB and Racing. A bright pixel makes the image sharp, but it's a bit pixelated even on the lowest settings. IPS Glow is expected in every IPS monitor. If you're into competitive FPS games, you should know that this monitor has an average response time of around 8 GTGms with a maximum of 100 no trace. My conclusion: This monitor is not worth the price. If you are on a budget and looking for the same product, get the VP249QGR or AOC 24G2 as they are much cheaper and have the same panda panel. As said, the VP249QGR is the same monitor as the VG249Q. All you need is a VESA mount, which costs around $20. There is now the AOC 24G2, which has a slightly faster GTG response time (around 5-7 ms) and a wider color space. If you have a 350 euro budget, I recommend the VG259QM or MAG251RX with 240 Hz and very fast IPS monitors.
