I installed two of these on several benches. The product is great, but it wasn't easy to install due to the instructions that came with it. Dimensions are in metric units, luckily I had a metric ruler, but installing my app according to the instructions provided resulted in the lid popping. I think what they give you is for overhead storage. I had to work on the bench by trial and error. I ended up installing the bottom bracket very close to the hinge. Once you identify the right leverage, this product works great, but what should have taken 20 minutes ended up being 2 hours. EDIT: After using this bench seat daily since installing it, one of the two we installed broke in half. I replaced the loop in the same style. 2nd Edit: A few more years later the replacement loop leaked and stopped working. I replaced the hinge again. This is really the best I've found for my application. We just keep our diapers and shoes there to be used 500 times a day.
