Attached pictures are NOT cheese or butter, they are BURNT rice. Okay, for anyone who thinks I can't cook rice. I agree, that's why I bought this machine. So, after THREE attempts to use this thing, I still have burnt rice. Let me explain my attempts. Failed attempt #1: I used too much water. I filled the included measuring cup with rice and filled the bowl with water to the line that indicated one cup. ERROR. You need to add a measuring cup (supplied) with rice and a measuring cup (supplied) with water. Not me. So the machine overflowed and the rice just foamed into a sloppy mess. Water everywhere, I threw away the rice. Failed attempt #2: I watched an HSN video showing how to use this exact article from 2018. I realized I had added too much water and did as instructed. a cup of rice, a cup of water, with her measuring cup. The rice is burned. I threw away the rice. Failed attempt #3: I thought I had to add oil, even though they claim you don't. So I tried #2 the exact same way, adding a tablespoon of olive oil. The rice burned even more than the first time. Finally, this rice machine digests the rice, which is finally burned. I turned the machine off immediately afterwards and still had coarse CRISP rice. It only has ONE setting. I'm not sure what else you should do. The machine is the perfect size, super cute, but doesn't work. Sorry Dash, I hope this helps :)
