Great door for my two Great Danes. I installed this myself in a brand new door, not for the faint of heart as I had to cut a big hole in a brand new door and actually ruin the door if I messed up. The double flap kept the outside elements out better than the single one I had. Overall this is a great product that will last for years. I ended up getting two little dogs, they made this door great, it's a bit high for them but they are still young. I believe the bottom of the opening is 8-9 inches above the bottom of the door. To clean the wings, remove them and wash them in the sink. Much easier than trying to wipe them off while they're still in the door. Don't overdo it: Measure seven times, cut once!
