The doors don't close completely.

We bought this 2 years ago for our new Rottweiler puppy who is now 130lbs. We built it right into the wall leading to the backyard. I wanted to write a review after all this time to say how well it has held up. The frame is intact but the plastic flaps are warped and do not close fully. 13-degree midwestern winter air blows into our living room unless we pull up a solid ceiling. I went back to Revain to see if replacement flaps were available but so far to no avail. I wouldn't want to buy a new

Great door for dogs - Dogs

Great door for my two Great Danes. I installed this myself in a brand new door, not for the faint of heart as I had to cut a big hole in a brand new door and actually ruin the door if I messed up. The double flap kept the outside elements out better than the single one I had. Overall this is a great product that will last for years. I ended up getting two little dogs, they made this door great, it's a bit high for them but they are still young. I believe the bottom of the opening is 8-9 inchesโ€ฆ

Excellent PRODUCT among the many "dog doors" currently on sale. THIS ONE is a clear, sensible choice. If you have a dog that "hesitates" in DOUBLE FLAP training, just don't sit on either one. I suggest just installing the OUTSIDE, outside SHUTTER during training sessions OR if you have SMALL DOGS that use the door along with LARGE DOGS. This method makes the door accessible to everyone. very small and older dogs as well as stronger, larger dogs. I ordered a very large model and am glad I didโ€ฆ

Good for door mounting, bad for wall mounting.

The overall design is good for a door. However, it is not well suited for wall mounting. Don't buy it for wall mounting! First I also bought a wall mount kit. The internal channel width of the kit is 15.5 inches. Anyone familiar with building knows that most homes have studs on 16 inch centers leaving 14.5 inch spacing between them. You should then try to get 8 of those 8 inch bolts to magically and blindly find your way to a ship on the other side of the wall. After struggling for hours, Iโ€ฆ

Big, strong, but worn.

I had several of these models. Reason? Dogs wear them out about every four years. Door seals wear out and air gets in. The magnets on the underside of the door detach and the doors open, letting in frigid air in winter and scalding air in summer. Rivets fall into the metal underskin of the wings. The flaps themselves are clear PVC, so it's -30 degrees in eastern Montana. the inner sheet freezes but remains flexible, and the outer sheet freezes and breaks off once a dog breaks down the door. Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Probably the best product of its kind

Having tried several different "dog doors" over the years this is definitely the best. I owned. I installed it in the wall and because it's basically two doors it's much better than the one flap option. However, this product is very difficult to install using the method described in the instructions. even in the wall. The problem is the long bolts used to slide through a wall or door and connect the two halves together. it is very difficult to keep the drilled holes level and level in something

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Dogs love it good for doors, gates and ramps

I installed it four years ago and have been using it ever since. It was originally intended for a bulldog with a very broad chest - I had to get a super size which is very large. The first two dogs I had that used him were calmer and he held onto them very well. . However, the plastic door gets quite dirty. The door was recommended to me by a salesman at a hardware store and he said it wouldn't slam in the wind and keep out the cold. I don't remember how big it was, but the super large doesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Exchange Availability

I have two dogs that are 4.5 years old. One weighs 106 pounds, the other weighs 62 pounds. I got this door because my big boy broke my friend's electronic door by pulling it off its hinges. They were also afraid to use it because it was white and you couldn't see anything through it. This solved both of those problems. This door is big enough for both dogs to squeeze through side by side (and if they're excited, they will). They love that it's transparent and they can look through to see theโ€ฆ
