Review on πŸšͺ Enhanced Security RuffWeather Pet Door Super Large: A Reliable Solution for Large Pets by Ashley Chaney

Dogs love it good for doors, gates and ramps

I installed it four years ago and have been using it ever since. It was originally intended for a bulldog with a very broad chest - I had to get a super size which is very large. The first two dogs I had that used him were calmer and he held onto them very well. . However, the plastic door gets quite dirty. The door was recommended to me by a salesman at a hardware store and he said it wouldn't slam in the wind and keep out the cold. I don't remember how big it was, but the super large does flap a bit in high winds, but not enough to be a big problem. (I'm in northern Idaho so temperatures do get quite cold, but this can be an issue in colder areas.) My newest (and youngest) family member is a very energetic and extremely active dog. He likes to fly through the door - shoot through it like a rocket, and she can't take it. I need to replace the valve because the holes connecting it to the door are torn. I also popped out the inner panels, they kind of snapped in place, and the vibration of him flying through the door made them pop out. He is indeed a very energetic dog so I don't know if a normally active dog can cause this particular problem. Retractable door covers have a thinner side and if someone tries to enter, they can easily break through. The hole is big enough for a grown man (which came in handy on one occasion when I was out longer than expected), but it's also a problem at times. If I were thinking about this issue I would rather look for a door with a heavier coating to protect it. If you have a smaller hole I highly recommend this product. For larger sizes the product is good but for safety reasons there are probably better options.
