Doesn't sit flush with either brace

Chinese bullshit. Do I have to say more? Okay, okay, I'll explain. I was expecting the screws to be rubbish, you know, weak Chinese metal where the Philips head comes off easily. But I haven't got there yet. As you can see from the photos there are two different types of arms that can be used to attach a slide. Each type has a design to match the side of the door you intend to install the lock on. The larger earring is designed to attach to the inside of the door frame and work with the latch when the door opens towards you. The other smaller one needs to be mounted flush with the door frame when the door is tilted. Needless to say, I need the second option. The problem here is that the deadbolt cannot be securely fastened and screwed to the door as the shackle into which it plugs will not allow it to do so without first making contact with the door. In other words, it's useless unless I sand down the back of the bracket so it doesn't hit the door before I can insert the lock. Another clamp will work just fine, but I don't need this one. ...for what I paid I need to make a change. This isn't a castle for villains. It's more like keeping a toddler out of the pantry. Two stars because it's not a heavy duty lock, the least they could do was design the pieces to fit together. Thanks for everything China.
