EDIT: I misread the label on the adapter: now the adapter works properly because the diffuser works properly with water . The adapter is actually 24V 0.65A. My diffuser failed the 24V 0.65A adapter so I need to replace it with an adapter with identical specs. I plug it in and the fan runs less than a second and stops. The description of this adapter on Amazon says "Output 24V 0.65A" but the label on the adapter itself only says 0.5A, not as described in the description.
