That would make a great lock - it's an extremely strong cable with a piercing alarm. The problem is that the locking mechanism has shifted - and suddenly you can't open it at all - not even with the key. This has already happened twice. The first time (soon after I received it) I finally - after a few minutes of fiddling - was able to insert the key and unlock it. I should have thrown it away then. But it was too expensive, so I gave it another chance. Big mistake. The second time - not much later - it was misaligned again. And nothing I could do with the key would open it. I spent 20 minutes unlocking my bike in the morning before work. For free. I finally had to give up to get to work. And now I have to find a way to cut the cable. Waste of time, waste of money and waste of a day that I could ride a bike. Work.
