I installed a first generation battery powered Ring Video Doorbell in front of my garage. Once or twice a week for the last 2 years I've removed the Ring Video Intercom and brought it inside to charge and then put it back in the cradle. I was planning on installing a doorbell transformer to take advantage of the Live View Ring, which is not available on battery power, but I'm glad I didn't and bought this adapter instead. The adapter plugs into the nearest outlet in my garage and the two wires are then connected with screws on the mounting bracket. I installed the adapter a week ago and it works great and the ring is 100% charged. UPDATE 2/21/18: The adapter still works fine, but the ring stops working when the temperature drops. This is a new phenomenon that I haven't experienced on battery power in recent years, but Ring says so on their website's support page and suggests taking the ring inside to warm up. According to Ring, this usually only occurs on older versions of Ring.
