Edit Posted 12/10/2020 Having been so pleased with these wood discs when I received them I have to edit my review due to the cracks that have appeared recently. I painted the ones I used. for jewelry and allow to dry well. A week later I covered them with flat polyacrylic paint (very thin, just to protect the paint) and let it dry completely again. Two weeks later I attached clothes hangers to it and was very happy with the end result. The jewelry was finished in over a month and lay in a cardboard box without a lid. All of this work was done slowly, with enough drying time to ensure the wood didn't crack. This afternoon I started wrapping them up to send to the recipients only to find that 6 of the 17 decorations were covered in HUGE tears. through the drawn design. (I've attached a picture of one of them, the overall size of the ornament is about three inches top to bottom, the crack extends about an inch and three quarters and is wide enough to let light through. That's pretty average for all the cracks that formed. Nothing has changed, the environment they were in was the same. They were all fine for a month after being painted and then suddenly cracks. It's a lot of work, in putting them so close to losing the timing to give them as gifts and I can't imagine how the jewelry I've already given to others can perform.Very disappointing so close to holidaying with handmade ones To be gifts that are impossible to give Original review: I ordered them twice and both batches I received were good The thickness is only one centimeter and the slice n range from just under 3 inches to just over 3 inches and all are relatively even, the wood is about very well dried and light, and every detail is sanded smooth. Because it is a natural product, the thickness of the crust is different on each slice, but there is rind on all of them. The marks on the rings are relatively light, and the rings do not form too much burr when they swell. after applying paint. There were very few stains on one of the discs. Of the 60 discs I received in two orders, none came with cracks. I've painted 18 so far and out of those 18 only one cracked and it's a repairable crack. One of these pieces arrived with no hole, no big deal, easy enough to drill. Overall the orders I have received are a good product that I would buy again.
