Review on πŸ“Ή Amcrest NV2104E 1080p POE NVR: Network Video Recorder for 4CH 1080p/3MP/4MP/5MP/6MP IP Cameras - Supports 30fps Realtime, 6TB HDD & More by Dewey Galyon

Poor user interface, cannot export video

I used a free application on my computer to record and detect motion from 3 Amcrest cameras. I wanted to film this from my PC and I liked the quality of the camera so much I thought I'd buy a special recorder. I bought it together with a hard disk for recording. Installation went well, not painless, but not very difficult either. The user interface of this device looks like something from the early 90's. It's just bad. It's very hard to use, get where you want to go, go back to just looking at the cameras you want. The mobile app is slightly better. I was unable to get the sensitivity to correctly show where motion was detected in the playback timeline. I also couldn't find a way to export/save video clips from the recorder. Since I've already set it up I'll leave it on, but the free app I used on my PC was much better. Super disappointed with this purchase.

Pros
  • Max. 80 Mbit/s downstream bandwidth, supports up to 4 cameras at 4K. Handy package with additional features such as USB mouse, network cable and quick start guide with user manual.
Cons
  • Issues

Great NVR. IP camera compatibility may vary.
