First loft pet bed I've ever bought and the frames have lasted for decades (very strong). The lids can be damaged by vigorous chewing/scratching, however they are not bulletproof. The mesh construction provides good ventilation/cooling and our dogs love to relax on these outdoor beds. I agreed that I would only need to replace the caps every year or two - depending on the conditions they are exposed to. If we didn't have a small dog or two constantly scratching them, the covers would last a lot longer. Also, it's nice to be able to change colors regularly. Will keep buying. I don't know where it's made but I think the company is based in Australia.
