I bought these for my 3 and 5 year olds to use at home and when playing outside. So far, so good. The range is much longer than I expected (equivalent to an entire city block I think). We bought two sets and they all work together so they use them when the other kids come in and we use them when they go to bed to call mom and dad if they need anything. I just wish they had an automatic timer to turn the offer on after "x" hours. Sometimes we forget to turn them off and the batteries die after about 8 hours.
