If you are looking for an inexpensive tape that reduces "road noise" then this is it. It does an excellent job of reducing vibration. I would say it did more to reduce road noise than going from aluminum to carbon bars. If you're a "funny sausage" then look elsewhere as this tape weighs 120g! For comparison, a set of cork straps that I ordered at the same time weighed 44 grams. In terms of grip, I find it to be about the same as conventional cork straps, maybe a little less. Didn't use it in the rain or on a hot day to rate wet grip. Outwardly I am ambivalent. I really like the carbon fiber pattern, but the finish is a bit shiny for me. I think a matte finish would look better. The lack of adhesive on the back suits me as I have experience with winding bars. I love taking the tape off and correcting areas that aren't as good as I'd like them to be.
